Itinerary
We will pick you up at the hotel or boat you are staying in and leave the historic city center to reach the Aswan Dam. Aswan High Dam is a colossal 20th-century work, started in 1961 and completed in 1970. It was built to protect Egypt from annual floods caused by the overflow of the Nile, the longest river in the world 6671 km. The next stop will be the Unfinished Obelisk, located in a red granite quarry excavated at the time of Queen Hatshepsut. This monument was designed with the aim of building the largest obelisk of Ancient Egypt, with a height of 42 meters and a weight of 1,200 tons. Unfortunately, it was cracked down before cutting out of the rock bed and abandoned till today.
We will leave the quarry behind and go to Agilikia Island, located between the old and new Aswan Dams. Here we will visit the beautiful Philae Temples dedicated to the deity Isis: it is one of the 4 places where the legend of Isis, Osiris, and Horus takes place.
At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel or Cruise ship.
